Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan condoled the death of actor Innocent. In his condolence message, V. D. Satheesan wrote that Innocent is a person who made his own name untrue with his innocent smile. He added that Innocent is one of the comedians who marked Malayalam cinema in front of the world.

Innocent, who walked with us for decades making us laugh and think, has become a painful memory today. A person full of sweet sense of humor in words, looks and behavior. Someone who showed so much sincerity in acting and writing. A man who made his own name with an innocent smile. More than that, he bravely faced the disease that was taking its toll on his body and gave courage to the entire society. There is no substitute for Innocent.
Like the characters created in the film, there are many roles in life. A long political career from Irinjalakuda Municipality to Indian Parliament. 18 years in Amma’s presidency. Innocent, who has acted in more than 600 films, is one of the comedians who marked Malayalam cinema in front of the world.
During my teenage and young adulthood, Innocent was flooding the screen. In the 80s and 90s, he did up to forty to forty-five films a year. With his special body language, speech style and unparalleled acting skills, Innocent’s Iringalakudakkar walked with Malayalam cinema for half a century.
