Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan visited the Yerevan chocolate factory to learn about the company’s activities and problems.

The company that produces 160 products and exports to 16 countries (Russia, Georgia, Belgium, France, USA, Israel, Ukraine, China, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Estonia, Mongolia, Sweden, Austria, Netherlands), which in 2019 compared to the previous year increased the volumes by about 30%, suffered difficulties in 2020 and as a result, compared to 2019, the sales volumes decreased by 15.7%. Nevertheless, the shareholders added AMD 100.0 million to the statutory capital.

The factory has initiated a program for the production of dried local fruits, chocolate-coated dried fruits and other candies based on dried fruits, as a result of which the production and sale volumes will significantly increase and about 400 new jobs will be created. 2021 it is planned to expand the geography of the exporting countries and to quadruple the export volumes to about 6.0 million US dollars, and in 2024 the export volumes are planned to be increased to about 20.0 million US dollars.

In the near future, the factory plans to make large investments for the expansion of production and storage areas and the acquisition of new equipment.

The activity of the factory contributed to the development of horticulture and partner organizations, printing houses, logistics and construction companies, and the creation of new jobs in them.

Vahan Kerobyan and founding director of the factory Sos Sahakyan discussed the development plan of the factory. The director of the factory presented to the minister some problems hindering the implementation of the project, one of which is access to financial resources, and asked for the support of the ministry. The need for advisory support was also emphasized.

The submitted problems will be studied by the Ministry and appropriate measures will be taken to solve them.
