Palma’s Brotherhood of Misericordia Launches Extraordinary Christmas Food Drive

A vital Christmas campaign aimed at bolstering food security and providing essential hygiene products for those in need is underway in Palma. The Brotherhood of Misericordia and Palma, in partnership with the Social Work of the Parish, has launched “The Charity Bag «Stmo. Cristo de la Misericordia»,” an extraordinary Christmas campaign focused on collecting donations of food, toiletries, and personal hygiene items.

The initiative will run from December 22nd to December 26th, with collection points strategically located in the city’s main supermarkets. Volunteers will be present during morning hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and again in the afternoon, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., to facilitate donations.

Volunteers Needed to Support the Campaign

The success of this crucial effort hinges on the generous support of volunteers. Organizers are actively seeking individuals to staff the donation tables at the supermarket locations. “Adequate execution of this campaign requires the collaboration of dedicated volunteers,” a campaign spokesperson stated.

Those interested in contributing their time are encouraged to contact the Brotherhood of Misericordia or the Parish Social Work directly. Contact information is as follows:

  • Brotherhood – Omar Torres (Charity Member): 608 37 62 94
  • Parish – Eva M. García (Social Work): 646 40 76 12

This Christmas campaign represents a significant community effort to ensure that vulnerable populations have access to essential resources during the holiday season. The partnership between the Brotherhood of Misericordia and Palma and the Parish Social Work underscores a shared commitment to social responsibility and community well-being. Organizers hope to see a strong outpouring of support from residents as they strive to fill “The Charity Bag” with much-needed provisions.
