Vanessa Hudgens stepped out for the opening night of the 2026 HollyShorts Film Festival at the TCL Chinese Theatre over the weekend, marking one of her most high-profile appearances since welcoming her second child with husband Cole Tucker late last year. The actress attended the event following a period spent embracing family life with her husband, a former professional baseball player. The couple first sparked romance rumors in 2020 and became engaged in 2023, before tying the knot later that year in a romantic ceremony in Mexico. They welcomed their first child, a son, in July 2024 before expanding their family again in late 2025 with the arrival of a daughter. They have chosen to keep both children’s names and faces largely out of the public eye.

Hudgens wasn’t simply attending the festival as a guest. She was honored with the Luminary Award in recognition of her career and support of independent filmmaking, while also attending in connection with her latest film, America.

The evening also featured a notable reunion for the actress. The evening also brought about a sweet reunion with her Tick, Tick… Boom! co-star Alexandra Shipp, who received the festival’s Trailblazer Award after making her writing and directing debut with short film For Niko.
The pair starred together in the acclaimed 2021 musical drama alongside Andrew Garfield.
