Today, the RA Boxing Federation received an official pleasant letter signed by Ho Kim, Director of the Executive Committee of the World Boxing Federation. This was reported by the press department of the National Olympic Committee.
Vardan Baghdasaryan from Vanadzor took part in the highest referee qualification exam at the World Boxing Academy held in Almaty on May 3-8, according to the requirements of the new statute of the sport. His knowledge received an excellent assessment, and AIBA awarded the Armenian specialist the title of a referee of the highest order. This is awe-inspiring among sports people, as few referees have been honored with the “Three Stars”. In fact, the specialist from Vanadzor was the first to receive that title under the new regulations in our country. This order gives the right to referee in the most prestigious tournaments in the world: Olympic Games, world and regional championships, club competitions of amateur boxing professionals, etc.
Our famous referee is a master of sports of the USSR, an honored coach of the RA, raised many students (we should mention the name of Galust Safaryan, a double medalist of the USSR championships, bronze prize winner of the All-Union Spartakiad), the chairman of the refereeing committee of the BBF.
Vardan Baghdasaryan is now the director of gas supply and gas supply branch of “Gazprom Armenii” in Lori marz.
The National Olympic Committee of Armenia has already congratulated the famous referee and wished him fruitful work.
