The Vatican lists the “serious violations of human dignity that are especially topical,” where surrogacy stands out, since it ensures that the child “becomes a mere object.”
The Vatican reaffirmed its position against surrogacy, sex change and gender theory, among other aspects, considering them violations of human dignity.
The document, called Dignitas Infinita, was published on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The text lists the “serious violations of human dignity that are especially topical”, where surrogacy stands out, since they ensure that the child “becomes a mere object.”
This practice that they declared “deplorable” also “severely offends the dignity of women and children and is based on the exploitation of the mother’s situation of material need”which is why they reiterate Pope Francis’ call for “the international community to commit to universally prohibiting this practice.”
Although months ago the Vatican did not appear against homosexual couples, they did against gender theory, which is “extremely dangerous because it erases differences in its claim to make everyone equal” and “aims to deny the greatest possible difference between living beings: sexual difference.”
Regarding sex changes, the Catholic Church showed its rejection, since there is “the risk of attacking the unique dignity that the person has received from the moment of conception,” although “this does not mean that it excludes possibility in a person affected by genital anomalies, which are already evident at birth or which develop later.
