Thiruvananthapuram∙ The former PVC Dr. Chinta Jerome, who is also the guide of Chinta Jerome, has checked the thesis submitted by the Youth Commission Chairperson Chinta Jerome at the University of Kerala and is convinced that there are no flaws in it. P.P. Ajay Kumar explained to the Kerala VC.
The explanation of the thought that the work of Changampuzha called Vazhakula by Vailopilly was mentioned in the thesis is a mistake and the thesis will be printed and published after correcting the error. Ajayakumar also reiterated in his reply to VC. The governor had asked the Kerala VC to look into the complaint submitted by the Save University Campaign Committee to the governor, alleging that the thesis was plagiarized from several articles, typos and grammatical errors were rampant, and that the thesis uploaded on the university’s website should be withdrawn. The VC has not yet given a preliminary report to the governor as the guide’s explanation has not been received.
The explanation of the guide states that the similarity of the thesis with other publications is less than 10 percent, the examination has been done as per UGC conditions and the thesis is entirely the researcher’s own findings. As requested by the VC, the Registrar has submitted the files related to Chinta Jerome’s PhD admission and the original version of the dissertation, the reports of the university professors of Tamil Nadu and Banaras who evaluated them and the open defense documents.
Aorga University Vice Chancellor Mohan Kunummel is in charge of Kerala VC. Chinta, who was admitted to Kerala for research in 2011, completed her research and submitted her thesis in 2020 when she was chairperson of the Youth Commission. In 2021, the university awarded the Ph.D. The Save University Campaign Committee has asked the Kerala VC to have the thesis directly scrutinized by an expert committee.
