vedanta semiconductor project, a mouse for Gujarat.. Vedanta company made an important announcement!! – Vedanta picks Gujarat for India semiconductor project with Taiwan’s Foxconn

by time news
Vedanta Ltd has chosen Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat for its new project, as the company made major announcements on its $20 billion joint venture with Taiwan’s Foxconn.

Vedanta is said to have received financial and non-financial subsidies, including capital expenditure and cheap electricity, from Gujarat to set up semiconductor plants.

According to official announcements, the project is recruiting workers near Ahmedabad, the largest city in the western state.

India’s richest states Maharashtra, Telangana and Karnataka, among others, are also slated to host Vedanta-Foxcon’s mega project.

But in last-ditch negotiations in recent weeks, the state of Gujarat has finally been chosen.

Most of the world’s chip output is confined to a few countries like Taiwan and late entrant India is now actively wooing companies to “create a new era in electronics manufacturing”.

Vedanta, the oil-to-metals company, decided to diversify into chip manufacturing in February, implementing a joint venture with Foxconn.
