«Altered States» is the title of the 17th International Festival of Contemporary Dance (July 13 – 29), director Wayne McGregor’s third chapter in the dialogue between mobile discipline and techno-cultures. «The artists and the works selected – explains the British choreographer – are alchemists of movement. Their work is driven by an insatiable curiosity to explore and experiment both in the creative process and in performance». Among the appointments, the tribute to Simon StrongGolden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, with a retrospective of his work as an «artist of movement», and the «hypnotic» choreographies of Tao Dance Theater, a Chinese company awarded the Silver Lion. Also waited Mrs. Doherty, Rashid Ouramdan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Lucy Guerin among others. (The 17th International Festival of Contemporary Dance will take place from 13 to 29 July: 7 world premieres, 3 European premieres and 9 Italian premieres are scheduled, over 150 artists and 89 events)
