  • Red Bull unveiled its RB22 car and new livery in Detroit on thursday.
  • The 2026 season will feature the most substantial Formula One rule changes in over a decade.
  • Max Verstappen, runner-up in last year’s championship, is eager to get behind the wheel of the redesigned car.
  • Red Bull is manufacturing its own power units in partnership with Ford.

The anticipation surrounding the 2026 Formula One season is palpable, largely due to sweeping rule changes that present a considerable challenge for every team on the grid. Red Bull, however, is leading the charge, being the first to reveal its new machine and set the tone for the upcoming season.

Verstappen finished second in the 2025 championship, a mere two points behind McLaren’s Lando Norris after a hard-fought season. the Dutchman had to push his car to its absolute limit, especially during the first half of the year when it lacked pace.

“I love the new livery,it looks realy nice and I think it is going to stand out on track this year,” Verstappen said. “The gloss is cool, it is indeed a more retro look, the color is really bold and blue, I really like it. Seeing it in real life was special and I was really impressed and surprised by how much of a change it is.”

“The whole look brings back a lot of great memories of back in the day when I was just starting out in F1 and everything was new. I’m excited to drive a car with a completely different look. I’m not sure the mechanics will be happy about the time it’ll take to keep this clean! But, it’s going to look really slick and will be nice for everyone to see out on track.”
