Victor Wembanyama posted 30 points and 14 rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs past the Sacramento Kings 124–109 on Friday night, securing the franchise’s seventh victory.
Once play began, the visiting team quickly took control. San Antonio built a 19-point lead by halftime, fueled by 19 points and eight rebounds from Wembanyama in the opening two quarters.
Wembanyama Shakes Off Ankle Scare Against Sacramento
The lopsided contest featured a moment of concern in the closing seconds of the first half when Wembanyama turned his left ankle following a closeout by Domantas Sabonis, who received a flagrant 1 foul on the play. After spending a minute flexing the joint, Wembanyama remained on the floor to shoot free throws before playing through the remainder of the game.
Wembanyama finished his night shooting 6 of 12 from the field, including 4 of 6 from beyond the arc, across 26 minutes of action.
Balanced Scoring Supplements San Antonio Attack
While Wembanyama anchored the interior alongside 14 rebounds and two blocks, the Spurs leaned on perimeter shooting and ball movement to keep the Kings at a distance. San Antonio converted 15 of 30 attempts from 3-point range. Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell and Dylan Harper added 19 points apiece.
