Stating that victory is still far away, BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman told the activists, ‘We were in the opposition party for the last 17 years and we are still here today. Now is not the time for complacency. As Trinamool leaders and activists stood by the party during the crisis, if they understand the language of expectations of the people of Bangladesh and gain their trust and love in the future, BNP will be able to give a new Bangladesh to the people of the country.’

On Tuesday night (September 3), Tariq Rahman said these things while connecting online from London at the gathering of BNP leaders and activists of Barisal division.

Tariq Rahman warned everyone in the party that BNP will not be allowed to be destroyed due to the patriotism of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, the sacrifice of Begum Khaleda Zia, and the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of leaders and workers. The party is uncompromising on this issue. Recently in Chittagong and Mymensingh the party has proved it.

The Acting Chairman of BNP said that the minority card has been played a lot. Minority is a sensitive issue, and everyone knows who has repeatedly tried to take political advantage in the fictional trap of torture in the country and abroad. This old game will not be allowed to be repeated in this country. He urged the leaders and activists to stand against the conspiracy to destroy communal harmony in the country.

Tariq Rahman also said that the followers of one religion have traditionally been protecting the places of worship of one religion from the hands of conspirators to destroy religious harmony in Bangladesh. They have repeatedly proved that there is no such thing as minority and majority in this country.

He said, we all have one and the same identity – we are all Bangladeshis. It should be proved not only in words but also in deeds whenever necessary.

Bringing up the issue of constitutional reform, Tariq Rahman said, about two years ago, BNP and like-minded parties gave a 31-point program with the demand of establishing the country’s constitutional structure and people’s rights. which is still open to correction and refinement.

Referring to the 31 points of constitutional reform, he firmly said that whoever brings the reform proposal, our reform proposal includes all of them.
