More than 24 hours after the blockade on the Mexico-Puebla highway began in both directions, motorists are seeking alternative routes due to a protest over outstanding payments for land expropriated for the Izta-Popo National Park construction.
Faced with the frustration of being stranded on the asphalt with no information on when traffic will resume, some people have resorted to extreme measures to find an alternate route and reach their destinations.

Some people have already managed to escape the blockage by changing their travel direction.
Individuals traveling to Mexico City from Puebla for medical appointments, work commitments, or family emergencies have also been affected by the blockade, despite requests for the protesters to make exceptions.
