Despite having already won the title in the German Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen does not let up in the local tournament and today finished with a home win against Eintracht Frankfurt. It was the midfielder’s sixth goal of the current season, where he also added five assists. After half an hour of play, Frimpong settled the story and in the last minute, Nigerian Boniface made it 5-1, also from a penalty.
Taking advantage of Bayern Munich’s defeat, the champion has already gained a 15-point lead, with two dates left to finish the championship. Now Leverkusen’s focus is on the other two titles that are played at the end of the season: the Europa League, where they already won the first leg of the semifinals against Rome (2-0) and will look for a place in the final this week playing at home, and the German Cup, where they will face Kaiserslautern in the final on May 25.
