On Wednesday (16/03/22), Pope Francis spoke in a video telephone conversation with Russia’s Orthodox Patriarch Kirill about Russia’s occupation of Ukraine.
The pope said that the pastors of the same holy people, who believe in God, the Holy Trinity and the Holy Mother of God, must stand together in the quest for peace, suffering, seeking peace and ceasefire.
The pope also spoke of his role as pastor and pastor, as shepherds, in helping and caring for those affected by the war.
The pope said that churches are called to promote peace and justice, and that wars are always unjust because those who pay the price are God’s people.
The pope has unequivocally stated that war is never a way out and that our hearts cannot stop weeping in front of all the children and women who lost their lives in the war.
The pope added that the pastors themselves are asking the pastors to help the people who are suffering in the war.

He emphasized that the issue of Ukraine’s war and the duty of Christians and pastors to do all they could to promote peace were the main topics of discussion.
The pope and Patriarch Kirill condemned the conflict in Ukraine in a joint statement signed in Cuba.
