‘Master’, directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj, was released on January 13 for Pongal. The action thriller starring Vijay Sethupathi and Malavika Mohan along with Vijay was well received in the theaters as well. Within the first two weeks of its release, it grossed over Rs 200 crore at the global box office. The song ‘Vathi Cumming’ from the movie was a hit.
The film tells the story of an alcoholic professor, John Durairaj (Vijay), who arrives as a teacher at the Juvenile Correctional Center, where he confronts Bhavani (Vijay Sethupathi), a gang leader. The film also stars Andrea Jeremiah, Shantanu Bhagyaraj and Arjun Das in the lead roles.
