Protests against the government in the South American country of Peru have erupted into violence. Supporters of jailed ex-president Pedro Castillo are protesting across the country to demand his release.
They are also demanding that the new president, Tina Polwart, step down. In this case, there was a clash between the protestors and the security forces at Juliaga.
It is reported that more than 17 people died and 68 people were injured in this riot.
