Several decades ago it was very common for families to be made up of many children, a figure that has decreased over time, which is why an interview with a Colombian woman who claims to have 20 children and is still looking to have more has gone viral. She knows her story below.

A video circulates through TikTok where they interview Doña Martha, a Colombian woman who claims to have 20 children, but not for the reasons everyone would expect.
The interviewer arrives at Martha’s home, where she lives with her 20 children, who appear running, playing or even sleeping during the clip.
When asked why she decided to have so many children, the woman simply responds that love is not her main reason.
“The truth is, they are like a business (…) because, the truth is, the government helps me for each child,” he expressed.
Doña Martha explains that she receives certain money from the government of her country for each child she has, obtaining a different amount depending on the age of the child.
“I receive 300, 320 (Colombian pesos) and another 120 and so on every month,” he said.
The woman, 39 years old, made it clear that she plans to have more children, despite her age, in addition to reporting that she had her first when she was 14 years old and that it has been difficult raising so many minors in her home.
“It’s difficult, yes, but looking at it positively it’s good because that’s not how I work,” he said.
Finally, the woman added that each child has a different father and that no one takes care of them, in addition to showing how she arranges the minors so that they sleep in a somewhat small space.

The clip, which was initially published in June 2023, once again went viral, as many people consider that Mrs. Martha is being irresponsible by having that many children, while other Internet users believe that everything is false.
“This smells like a lie to me, there are not 17 children there and he says that is his business”, “He is 39 years old, he has 20 children, he doesn’t know if he started having them when he was 14”, “I think it’s a setup , it looks acted”, “What a shame as a woman and mother” and “She is selfish, she doesn’t think about the children were some of the comments.”
