Mumbai: Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has asked the media not to take pictures of his daughter Vamika. Kohli arrived at the Mumbai airport yesterday on a two – month tour of South Africa (India tour of South Africa) and asked the media not to take pictures of his daughter.

Virat Kohli was the first to get off the team bus at the airport. The video, which was circulated among fans, shows Kohli requesting journalists and photographers not to take pictures of his daughter Wamika in Hindi. The video shows Kohli telling the media not to take pictures of the child. After Kohli, Anushka Sharma and a few other Indian players got off the team bus with Wamika.

Wamika’s first birthday is on the 11th of next month. Kohli and Anushka had earlier decided not to share their daughter’s pictures on social media for any reason. Despite reports that Kohli will not be playing in the ODI series after the Test series to celebrate his daughter’s birthday, Kohli has denied this.

It has been reported that Kohli will miss the ODI series due to Wamika’s birthday as he does not want to play under the new ODI captain Rohit Sharma. But in a press conference ahead of the tour of South Africa, Kohli denied all this and openly said that he has no problem playing under Rohit.

Kohli, who had earlier denied BCCI President Sourav Ganguly’s claim that he had been informed of his removal from the post of ODI captain, had openly said that the selection committee chairman had finally told him about this after selecting the team for the Test series against South Africa. Kohli also rejected Ganguly’s claim that he had asked Kohli not to step down as T20 captain.

India, who have yet to win a Test series in South Africa, are set to win the series this time around. With Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Shubhman Gill out injured, it will be a challenge for India to win the series. The first Test of the series starts on the 26th of this month.
