Aerospace company Virgin Galactis has launched in test mode the manned spacecraft SpaceShipTwo Unity from Spaceport America in New Mexico. This is stated in a message from the company on Twitter.

It is planned that the carrier aircraft VMS Eve will lift the SpaceShipTwo Unity spacecraft to an altitude of 13 km and release it into free gliding. The company then reported that the spacecraft successfully separated from VMS Eve, climbed to the planned altitude and began to descend. At 18:43, SpaceShipTwo Unity landed.

As TIme writes, against the background of the announcement of the launch date, shares of Virgin Galactic rose by 20%.

Earlier, the Chinese rover “Chzhuzhong” descended from the landing platform to the surface of Mars. Then the spacecraft took and sent footage from the surface of the Red Planet to Earth.
