The young preacher Vitória Souza was once again involved in a controversy during an event held by the Assembly of God in Catanduva, in the interior of São Paulo. Her father, dissatisfied, publicly argued with the pastor, and then he and his daughter left the place.
The pastor responsible for the church and the event, Éverton Porto, established a time in the schedule for the young woman’s preaching, who did not like the stipulated space. As is common at Pentecostal events, there were other guests, such as singer Elaine de Jesus, one of the best known in the country.
When she took the stage, Vitória Souza complained: “Dear ones, I want to make something clear here to you. I didn’t come here as a star, I didn’t come here as an artist, as a product, I came here to worship Jesus. Anyone who follows me on social media knows that Vitória has a word, ministration. And a schedule was given to me, that I would be ministering here, today. Did you understand? But the pastor said I have to have 30 minutes because I’m a product, because he paid me.”
At that moment, it is possible to see the young woman’s father at the back of the stage, complementing what his daughter was saying. “Brothers, I want to say, thank God we don’t charge, because logically the amount we ask for is fuel, a cost allowance, for us to eat on the road. I don’t charge too much, brothers, because I don’t think it’s fair,” she added.
Vitória Souza then decided to abandon the event: “I want to tell the brothers that my role was done. I arrived here, they gave me a schedule, then it changed. I came here to worship. Victory is not a product. I am a worshiper. I want to say that, as the pastor sees me as a product, I will withdraw.”
At that moment, it is possible to see the pastor responsible asking for the young preacher’s microphone to be cut off, while her father takes her off the stage and the people present applaud her.

The pastor then says that “for all the scandal that happened”, the initial idea was not to invite Vitória Souza: “We weren’t going to bring her to our church. I was the one who paid for it, pastor. […] Let’s listen to Elaine de Jesus”, he says, clearly referring to the young preacher as a “product”.
“Take her out, my brother”, says the pastor, from above the stage, while Vitória Souza’s father protests from below.
The low atmosphere embarrassed everyone on stage, and singer Elaine de Jesus, invited to speak, did not hide her discomfort: “Raise your hands to the heavens, with me, tonight. We adore you, Jesus. This Church is Yours! We belong to You, Jesus! Oh, if it weren’t for Your mercy upon us, Jesus! We wouldn’t be here tonight.”
