Monselice to Commemorate Vittorio Veneto Anniversary with Armed Forces Day Observance

A solemn and patriotic observance of the 107th Anniversary of Vittorio Veneto, coupled with Armed Forces Day and National Unity Day, is scheduled for Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Monselice, Italy. Mayor Giorgia Bedin and the Municipal Administration have extended an invitation to all citizens to participate in the day’s events, honoring the sacrifices made and celebrating the nation’s resilience.

Honoring Fallen Heroes and National Pride

The commemoration will begin at 10:00 AM with a gathering of representatives from combat and weapons associations in Piazza Vittoria. This will be followed at 10:15 AM by a Holy Mass held in the Cathedral of Monselice, dedicated to the memory of all those who have fallen in service to the nation across all wars.

A central element of the day will be a parade commencing at 11:00 AM. The procession will move through Piazza S. Marco, Via Tortorini, and Via Buggiani, culminating in a poignant homage to the Tombstone of the “Unknown Soldier” at Largo Carpanedo before continuing to Piazza Vittoria.

Ceremony and Student Participation

At 11:15 AM in Piazza Vittoria, a formal flag raising ceremony will take place, accompanied by the laying of laurel wreaths at the local war memorial and commemorative plaques. A particularly moving element of the ceremony will be the reading of the Victory Bulletin, thoughtfully organized by students from the “zanellato” and “Sabinianum di Monselice” institutes.

“This event is a crucial opportunity to instill a sense of national pride and remembrance in our younger generations,” a senior official stated.

The ceremony will also feature speeches from Mayor Bedin and Professor Mauro Toffanin, the designated official speaker. Adding to the atmosphere, the band of the City of Monselice and a Majorettes group will participate in the event.

Contingency Planning for Inclement Weather

Organizers have proactively planned for potential inclement weather. Should conditions necessitate a change of venue, the ceremony will be relocated to the Council Room of the Municipality, ensuring the event proceeds regardless of the elements.

This commemoration serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made for freedom and a celebration of the enduring spirit of national unity.
