Voices of the Isthmus, necessary to build well-being in Oaxaca – State Institute of Public Education of Oaxaca

  • IEEPO Director General inaugurates the Fifth Regional Consultation Forum for the preparation of the PED 2022-2028 in Tehuantepec

Santo Domingo Tehuantepec, Oax., February 1, 2023.- With the objective of building a State Development Plan in which the feelings of the Oaxacan citizens, authorities and communities are established, the General Director of the State Institute of Public Education of Oaxaca (IEEPO), Emilio Montero Pérez, inaugurated in the facilities of the Universidad del Istmo (Unistmo), Campus Tehuantepec, the Fifth Regional Consultation Forum for the elaboration and formulation of the State Development Plan (PED) 2022-2028.

As a space for dialogue and exchange of opinions, through eight work tables with the themes: Welfare State; Agricultural Promotion and Rural Development; Economic Growth and Development; interculturality; Gender equality; Health; Education and Culture, the voices of the peoples were heard, proposals that meet their needs and proposals for execution routes for the well-being of all were agreed upon, as is the priority of Governor Salomón Jara Cruz.

In the conference, in which municipal authorities, educational institutions, representatives of the different sectors of society and inhabitants of the area participated, it was highlighted that the PED will be the guide for the actions and programs of the State Government to improve and transform the living conditions of the Oaxacan people in the next six years, hence the importance of the participation of all social sectors in its formation.

As part of the Regional Consultation Forum, the Director General of the Institute intervened at the Education table, listening to citizen proposals, educational representatives and authorities, which allow promoting the integral development of the student body.

The PED 2022-2028 will be made up of five central axes: 1) Welfare State for all Oaxacans. 2) Honest, close and transparent government at the service of the peoples and communities. 3) Security and justice to live in peace. 4) Growth and economic development for the eight regions. 5) Infrastructure and public services for the development of Oaxaca.

These principles are based on a vision of the government that will build the foundations for the well-being, development and justice in the communities; aligned with the 2030 agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals and the National Development Plan.
