Porto, December 28, 2023 – FC Porto’s women’s volleyball team has secured a important addition with the signing of 34-year-old middle blocker Dominika Sobolska-Tarasova, bolstering their options as they currently lead the Women’s League with a perfect record.

Early Career and Polish Success
At 18, Sobolska-Tarasova moved to Poland, spending three seasons with Volleyball Wroclaw. In 2012, she joined chemik Police, contributing to a successful season that culminated in winning both the national title and the Polish Cup. She then played for Dabrowa Górnicza for a year before a brief stint with Metalleghe Sanitars Montichiari in Italy.
Dominating at the Net Across Europe
Returning to the Polish League with Stal bielsko-Biala, Sobolska-Tarasova then made her mark in Turkey, earning recognition as one of the top five blockers in the championship during the 2018/19 season. This wasn’t a new achievement for the athlete; she had previously received the same distinction in Poland during the 2014/15 season and again in 2022/23. Further seasons in Italy were followed by a title-winning stint with CSM Târgoviște in Romania during the 2020/21 season.
