MUMBAI – 16 Shiv Sena MPs have demanded to vote for NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. In a meeting convened by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the demand was made to support the NDA candidate.
Shiv Sena MP Gajanan Kirtikar said that a large number of people in Maharashtra are tribals and asked to support Draupadi, who is a tribal woman. It is reported that Uddhav Thackeray will take a decision within 2 days.
Six MPs, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s son, did not attend the meeting. The Shiv Sena has nineteen MPs in the Lok Sabha and three in the Rajya Sabha. Shinde MP Rahul Shewal had asked Uddhav Thackeray to vote for Draupadi.
