‘Walton Open 12th National Services (Men & Women) Wrestling Competition-2024’ starts tomorrow Sunday (February 18) at Sheikh Russell Roller Skating Complex. Before that, on Saturday, the weight of the wrestlers going to participate in the competition was held at the federation office.
From this afternoon till night, hundreds of players going to compete for Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Ansar, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Titus were weighed and fixed. The main competition will start from tomorrow morning.
Sponsor company Walton Hi-Tech Industries Plc Senior Executive Director F.M. Iqbal bin Anwar (Dawn) will be present as the chief guest and inaugurate the competition. At this time Walton’s senior deputy executive director. Competition will be held in total 20 weight classes, 10 each in both male and female categories. Champions and runners-up teams (both male and female) will receive trophies. Apart from this, the best players (male and female) of the competition will be given a crest and prize money.
Men’s weight categories are 57 kg, 61 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 74 kg, 79 kg, 86 kg, 92 kg, 97 kg and 125 kg.
Women’s weight categories are – 50 kg, 53 kg, 55 kg, 57 kg, 59 kg, 62 kg, 65 kg, 68 kg, 72 kg and 76 kg.
