The ‘Walton 8th Media Cup Badminton Competition-2024’, sponsored by Walton Hi-Tech Industries Plc and organized by Queen of Hearts, has started from Wednesday (March 06).
Rabiul Islam Milton, senior deputy executive director of the sponsoring organization Walton, inaugurated the three-day long competition as the chief guest at Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Wooden Floor Gymnasium in Paltan in the afternoon. At that time, the managing director of power sponsor Bhaiya Housing, Jubair Islam Shawon, and the officials of the organizing organization were present.
Channel 24’s Kochi and Saraj duo won the men’s doubles on the opening day. They have lost the pair of Raihan and Momitul of our time. On the other hand, Titu-Jerin duo of our time won the mixed doubles. They lost Channel 24’s Kochi-Suchna pair.
This year’s competition is being held in Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles in addition to special two categories. Where actors and actresses will participate in men’s singles and women’s singles. More than two hundred media workers from 30 media houses have participated in this event in seven categories.
The three-day long Media Cup Badminton competition will conclude on Friday afternoon with the final, closing and prize distribution ceremony.
The prize money of the competition is 1 lakh taka. A total of 20 people will be given this amount as prize money. Among them, the champions of each category will receive 8 thousand rupees, along with Walton’s pressure cooker. And the runners-up will get 4 thousand rupees, along with Walton’s bread maker.
