New Township Planned Near Srinagar in Kashmir
New Delhi, 2024-08-12 – If you’ve been dreaming of owning a plot in picturesque Kashmir, your search is over. The National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) is gearing up to develop a new township near Srinagar. Construction is expected to begin in the next two years.
The government-owned NBCC plans to develop a greenfield township on 406 acres in Srinagar, investing Rs 15 billion over the next five years. The township will be located just 8 kilometers from Lal Chowk and will include:
Residential plots
Luxury villas
Apartment complexes
Commercial office space
Indoor sports center
200-room five-star resort with modern facilities
NBCC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Srinagar Development Authority to make this ambitious project a reality.
Anyone can buy a plot
The plots will be offered for sale to anyone, with no restrictions. Since the project is being developed on a self-sufficient basis, the income from plot sales will be reinvested in branding and development work. This will eventually lead to the launch of commercial areas, apartments, and affordable housing projects in a phased manner.
A green and sustainable township
The new township will prioritize greenery, allocating 55% of the area for residential purposes, 12% for commercial use, and 10% for open spaces. Additionally, 15% of the land will be dedicated to residential development, including 3,200 affordable houses.
