Thiruvananthapuram: The protest against the transfer of the appointment of the Waqf Board to the PSC turned into a direct confrontation between the Muslim League and the government. With the League making it clear that the conference held in Kozhikode was just a declaration of strike, it was ensured that the agitation would intensify. Abdurahman Kallayi, state secretary of the Muslim League, made controversial remarks about the marriage between Minister PA Mohammad Riyaz and Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena at a Waqf protection rally in Kozhikode. Following this, Chief Minister Pinarayi attacked the League at the CPM Kannur District Conference. ‘You decide who you are first.
