Ukraine made gains on both flanks of Bakhmut. The attacks were predictable, yet the Russians were caught by surprise. This is a good sign for further offensives by Kiev.
The counteroffensive of Ukraine has begun. Ukrainian units have launched an attack along a 100-kilometer front line. The greatest attention is focused on the situation in and around Bachmut. Here the Ukrainian forces managed to push back the Russians on both flanks of the urban area. What is most amazing is how this could have happened. The Battle of Bakhmut is often compared to that of Stalingrad. On a miniature scale, if you compare the area and the amount of deployed troops.
