As the Shabbat days for the sudden departure of the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Yehuda Halevi Levin zt’l, head of the great Talez yeshiva in Chicago, who passed away suddenly on Shabbat evening at the age of 63 and left the members of the yeshiva orphaned and distraught.

Yesterday (Tuesday) the son of the Gaon Rabbi Ephraim Mordechai Halevi Levin was crowned at the Talez Yeshiva located at 3535 W. Foster Boulevard in Chicago, where the Rosh Yeshiva Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Yeshayahu Keller came up and crowned the eldest son of the Rosh Yeshiva zt’al his partner as Rosh Yeshiva in the leadership in place of his father, to the sound of their song of the boys who warmly received the new head of the yeshiva who also spoke.

The 34-year-old Rabbi Levin was appointed a teacher of lessons in the yeshiva in recent years and since then he made a difference, was known as a speaker with supreme grace and was devoted to the students of the yeshiva for all their needs. By choice, he studied at the Brisk Yeshiva with Grai Sloviitchik and is the son-in-law of the Gaon Rabbi Burstein, head of the Lakewood rabbi.

One of the students in the yeshiva says that apart from the extensive knowledge of the Torah subjects, he inherited from his father the virtues which he endowed in a miraculous way.

In the house of his great father and his mother, the daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Faybelzon ztzel of Monsi, he grew up and learned the Talez Torah from his great grandfather the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Haim Levin ztzal who at the age of 27 opened the yeshiva in Chicago, and his grandmother Marat Esther Miriam Shatchi’, the daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Ephraim Mordechai Ginzburg ztzel, rabbi of the Mir yeshiva in the USA after which he was named and the granddaughter of Maran the tzaddik genius overseer Rabbi Yehezkel Levinstein ztzel.

Now, and the sun has risen after the sun has come and there will be a proper leadership in the Betelez Yeshiva praying in Chicago so that he may live long for his kingdom.
