Due to the sudden increase in demand in stores, some stores have reduced the number of bottled water offered to customers. A dental shop in London has put up a notice that only 3-5 bottles of water will be given to a customer. Although the notice was removed after strong protests, people said such restrictions were being imposed in many shops.

According to the Daily Mail, a poster at a London supermarket read, “Regulation is necessary to make it accessible to all”. Some customers protested the store’s announcement. It is also said that the notification was removed after this.
Many parts of England were declared drought-stricken. Britain is currently facing a severe drought. Amid water shortages, the government announced on Friday that much of the UK has been affected by drought. After doing this, the people living in those areas will now be restricted from using domestic and commercial water.
South West, South and Central England and the whole of East England have been declared as drought-affected areas. Meanwhile, a heat wave continues across the UK. The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that southern England will continue to be hot until September.
