During the month of May, multiple colonies of the Mexico City will face water shortage due to a planned outages plan announced by SACMEX.

This measure responds to the need to carry out remodeling and sanitation worksaimed at improving the metropolis’s water infrastructure and ensuring an efficient and reliable supply in the long term.

The shortage, which will affect various areas of the capital, is not attributed to adverse weather conditions, but to the execution of preventive works. These tasks include the renovation and maintenance of critical pumping equipment at strategic points in the drinking water distribution system.

The list of affected neighborhoods includes areas such as Torres de Quiroga and Salvador Díaz Mirónlocated in the Mayor Gustavo A. Madero.

These will be affected by the water cut due to maintenance works at the La Libertad Water Treatment Plant, located in DM Nacional, Preparatoria 3, north of Mexico City.

Given this situation, residents of the affected neighborhoods are urged to take precautions and store enough water to cover their basic needs during the construction period. Likewise, they are reminded to use the resource responsibly to avoid waste.
