It is not the first time that we are talking about the necessity of demarcation. and why Tavush may have several explanations, CP MP Arsen Torosyan told reporters in the National Assembly.
“First, it is important to start that process, because actually we can talk about demarcation forever and never start. It is in our interest to start it. It is very important to make a bilateral decision on which maps we are guided by, and this decision should mean that if we carry out border demarcation in one part, then in other parts it should be carried out according to those maps,” said Torosyan.
He said that this will not mean the creation of a new border, but the actual existing border should be legally fixed.
“We are not going to give any administrative settlement or territory that was within the borders of Soviet Armenia to any country. And if, during the demarcation, it passes through any territory that is under the control of this or that side, it should be returned to this or that side mutually, with the agreement of both sides,” said Arsen Torosyan.
