We are conducting a study on the sugar market, we are looking at the dynamics of prices, Gegham Gevorgyan, the Chairman of the Commission for Protection of Competition, told reporters in the parliament.
“Perhaps you are aware that cheap quota sugar was imported into Armenia 2-3 months ago, as a result of which the prices fell, and then rose after that. Now our EAEU partners have taken a new initiative to implement imports from third countries at 0 interest until December, because there is a deficit of sugar in the EAEU region, mainly in Russia, due to covid,” said Gegham Gevorgyan.
He said that they will also study the butter market.
“Besides, we also have decisions regarding a number of other areas. We conducted a study on the online shopping market and planned a measure of responsibility, at the moment we are studying the medical services, we will publish the results at the end of December,” said Gegham Gevorgyan.
