On July 4, 2021, at 7:00 a.m., the son of Vakhtang Darchinyan, the world champion of professional boxing according to various organizations, and producer, author-screenwriter Javahir Yeghikyan of Kentron TV’s “I Am” program, was born in Yerevan’s Erebuni Medical Center. With a weight of 2 kg 630 g and a height of 48 cm, the baby wears the pseudonym of his father, a world-famous boxer, Vic, at the request of his mother.

“I decided the name of the child; First of all, it is not Vakhtang’s real name, it is his pseudonym, which brought him great success, and I would very much like my son to bear the name Vik and become a son worthy of his father in the future. I would like my little Vik to be recognized and loved like his father, to become a kind and modest person,” the new mother excitedly mentioned in a conversation with Aysor.am.

Especially in recent years, there are not few cases when famous people prefer to give birth to their babies in the USA. They wondered, having such an opportunity, how did they avoid that thought?

“It was our clear decision that our son should definitely be a citizen of Armenia; That is why we were in Armenia these days,” he emphasized.

Although the younger Vik Darchinyan is only one day old, he is already being compared to his father.

“Indeed, he is very similar to his father. Even the delivery doctor, when she saw my baby for the first time, said, “the second Vik Darchinyan was born,” the boxer’s wife told with a smile.

The mother and newborn son are still in the medical center, both are doing well. After discharge, parents will diligently observe the 40 days postpartum. The mother and her husband help the new mother in taking care of the baby, but the mother-in-law will soon join the family.

“My mother and Vic are by my side when it comes to taking care of the child, they help a lot. But soon my mother-in-law, our other grandmother, will join us. Now it is more than necessary to observe 40 days, because today there are many infections and diseases… We will leave the appointments for later,” our interlocutor explains with a smile.

We remind you that Vakhtang Darchinyan and Javahir Yeghikyan got married on October 1, 2020. Due to the war, the previously planned wedding celebration was canceled. On that day, the couple limited themselves to getting married in the church and registering their union in the Civil Registry Office.

The couple lives half of the year in Armenia and the other half in the United States of America.

Aysor.am congratulates Vakhtang Darchinyan and Javahir Yeghikyan, and we wish little Vic a carefree, healthy and happy childhood.
