Inter Milan striker and captain Lautaro Martinez expressed his happiness at winning the Italian League title after defeating Milan 2-1, in the derby in the 33rd round.
Inter won the title 5 weeks before the end of the tournament, after expanding the gap with Milan to 17 points.
Lautaro said in statements highlighted by the Italian Calciomercato website: “This makes me cry a lot. We have worked and suffered a lot, and we deserve this joy.”
He added: “I dedicate the victory to my family, my children and all the fans. In football you can lose and win, but tonight our happiness is double.”
The Argentine continued: “Never before have we won the league title in the derby. We had to take advantage of this opportunity and now the stadium is ours.”
He continued: “The number (20) is a championship that deserves a lot, and now we have to continue in this vein and win again. With this second star, we have entered the club’s history.”
Regarding renewing his contract with Inter, Lautaro concluded his statements: “I hope we will reach an agreement, but now I want to enjoy this victory.”
