The Chinese Gas, Petroleum and Drilling Company ZPEC, the winner of the two contracts to develop the East Baghdad Oil Field – Northern Extensions and the Middle Euphrates Oil and Gas Fields (Al-Kifl, West Al-Kifl and Marjan) during the supplement of the fifth licensing round and the sixth round, confirmed its aspiration to begin work on these projects, while clarifying its technical capabilities.
The company’s representative (Tony Law) told the (INA): “ZPEC has been present in Iraq since 2011 and we have carried out drilling work for oil projects and we look forward to more work in Iraq.”
He added, “We are happy to have won contracts in the appendix of the fifth licensing round and the sixth licensing round, and we will work based on what has been achieved to develop the East Baghdad field – the northern extensions and the Middle Euphrates fields. We look forward to signing contracts and starting work.”
He continued, “Our main operations consist of 1. Oil and gas exploration, development and production, (2) Oil and gas engineering and technical services, (3) Manufacturing of advanced oil and gas equipment. ZPEC is also actively expanding its high-value-added high-tech business, which Enjoying the advantages of business integration, according to plans, ZPEC forms a complete oil and gas exploration industrial chain covering oil and gas exploration and development.
Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani launched the fifth licensing round and the sixth licensing round.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Media Office, received by the (INA), stated that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani sponsored the ceremony of announcing licenses for the fifth supplementary round and the entire sixth round, which includes a total of 29 projects for oil and gas exploratory fields and patches, distributed between 12 governorates,” stressing that “these strategic projects will contribute to increasing investments in those governorates, which will help improve their economic and service reality.”
The statement added, “Iraq expects to obtain more than (3,459) million standard cubic feet per day of gas, and more than one million barrels of oil per day, through these two rounds.”
