Pope Francis, who is always concerned about the youth, in his video message addressed to the youth at the Global Youth Summit, made special mention of the more than 400,000 young people who have registered so far and expressed his joy for the Pope. The desire of young people to participate highlights their eagerness to share experiences, Pope said.

The Global Youth Summit will thus be of great help to the youth in leading a goal-oriented life. Therefore, instead of building walls, the Pope wished the youth to open their hearts and go down to the cultures of others, and let our example of life be an inspiration to others.

Global Youth Conferences led by the Catholic Church are the most attended youth conferences in the world. Each country prepares the stage for this conference which is held once in three years. The last conference was held in Panama in 2019 before the Covid pandemic. The conference was then canceled in 2022 due to the special circumstances of the pandemic. Then this year in 2023 it is being held in the month of August in Lisbon, Portugal. Around four lakh youth have already registered to participate in the conference.
