‘We want a ruler who considers the people as owners’

He said this in an exchange meeting held with the family members of the martyrs in the anti-discrimination movement of students and people on the initiative of Narayanganj Metropolitan and District Jamaat on Thursday.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, ‘We have come not to comfort the martyred family but to take inspiration. Alas, I could not be one of the martyrs of this war. I am envious of those who have been blessed with this good fortune. People of different religions were injured and killed in this movement. This nation is forever indebted to them.’

He said, ‘No tyranny can rise where a nation stands. And let no tyrant dare to oppress. We want a ruler who will treat the people of this country as masters instead of slaves. They will think of themselves as servants rather than owners of their own country.’

Jamaat Ameer said to the government, ‘You should support the families who need financial support. Do your best for the injured. We are with you. Heroes’ heroic deeds should be placed in all national important places including our textbooks. It is not the needs of their families, it is the needs of future generations. For them to know, their former youths were standing in front of the oppressor. They said, there is a storm in the chest, I am getting a shot.

Narayanganj Metropolitan Ameer Maulana Abdul Jabbar presided over and Secretary Engineer Manwar Hossain moderated the exchange meeting, Central Executive Council Member Saiful Alam Khan Milon, Central Working Council Member Maulana Moin Uddin Ahmad, Student Camp Secretary General Zahidul Islam, Narayanganj District Amir Muminul Haque Sarkar, Nayeb Amir of the metropolis were present. Maulana Abdul Qayyum and other leaders.

Saiful Alam Khan Milon said, ‘Even if the blood stains of the martyrs are erased, it will remain in our hearts. A beautiful happy prosperous Sonar Bengal should be built by keeping their memories.’

Before this, Jamaat’s Ameer inquired about the families of the martyrs in the anti-discrimination movement of the students and provided financial assistance to them.
