The statement of the “Mother Armenia” faction regarding the decision to deprive the opposition members of the Yerevan Council of Elders of their mandates:

“At the extraordinary session of the Yerevan Council of Elders, it was decided to deprive Sona Aghekyan, Narine Hayrapetyan and Hayk Marutyan from the “National Progress” faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders. It happened with the joint actions of two infamous people arrested from the “Civil Agreement” party, its affiliated faction “Republic” and “Public Voice”. It is obvious that we are dealing with behind-the-scenes and illegal processes. There is also a clear manifestation of political persecution against “Mother Armenia”.

“Mother Armenia” condemns the arbitrary, illegitimate and anti-democratic decision to deprive the council members of their mandates and will challenge it in court.

This government once again showed that they inherited all the bad habits recorded in the newly independent Armenia and exhausted themselves.

We condemn that decision of the ruling group, which was obviously made ahead of the increase in the price of urban transport in Yerevan.

“Mother Armenia” will fight against the increase in the prices of urban transport and other services, doing everything to prevent them from being implemented and protect the interests of citizens. We will also not allow a change of the constitution with the agenda dictated by Aliyev, which is being carried out to destroy the foundations of our statehood and which may lead to a new genocide.

We will continue the steps aimed at removing the power led by Nikol Pashinyan on a local and national scale. This is a struggle for the existence of our people and statehood.
