We will order the removal of the public space occupied by God – Chennai High Court

by time news
Noting that no god is asking us to occupy public space and build new temples, the Chennai High Court has said that even if God occupies public space, it will be ordered to be removed.

Arulmigu Balapattarai Mariamman Temple is located in the Namakkal Municipality. The Namakkal Primary District Muncipal Court has issued an order against the temple in a case filed by Papai alleging that the temple was occupying a public road on behalf of the temple and that the construction was obstructing access to their property.

Judge Anand Venkatesh, who heard the case filed in the Chennai High Court on behalf of the temple against the order, closed the case by ordering the removal within two months of all the constructions built by the temple administration on the particular public road.

At the same time, the judge said that whoever occupies the public road, even if it is a temple, should be prevented from doing so, adding that some people have the intention of occupying the public space in the name of the temple. The judge said that if God had occupied the public space, the court would have ordered its removal, adding that the temple could not be built by occupying the public space in the name of God and blinding the court.
