“Western Australia, the world at the edge of the world” the photographic exhibition by Daniela Solito

by time news

NIGHTS – In the ever magical and suggestive setting of the Cloister of the Poor Clares of Noci yes it is inaugurated last 25th and will be ongoing until next 31st August, the photographic exhibition by Daniela Solito, journalist for “La Repubblica” and passionate about travel and photography. “Western Australia, the world at the edge of the world” collects the shots taken by Solito in Western Australia for a reportage of “Repubblica viaggi”. Each shot has a caption that allows you to contextualize it and therefore appreciate it at its best. The exhibition will be open every day from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm, until August 31st.

One more evocative than the other, the shots on display. In those oases of silence and peace, through an exuberant explosion of colors, it is possible to rediscover one’s true self. Pristine beaches, which meet thick vegetation and landscapes where the sea merges with the sky, to the point of not knowing where one ends and the other begins. And again, almost lunar scenarios where red sand craters dominate; magical sunsets and singular animals, such as “ghost crabs” and baby sharks. Shots that immortalize places (mostly National Parks) that still seem “virgin”, not disfigured by the hand of man. And yet, they are located not far from the cities, the metropolises and the “civilization” that runs and rumbles. This should be an example to us too: civilization and uncontaminated nature can coexist perfectly, separated by very small distances.

“The beauty of these places is that they make you feel like you are actually the first to explore them”- reveals Solito and adds: “The Aboriginal guides were a valuable support in getting to know not only the places, but also a culture so different from ours.” Asked which shot fascinates her the most, the journalist points out two lovers in the shadow, with a breathtaking sunset in the background. “They both broke off a kiss to gaze in unison at the sunset.”
