“Western Stars”, Bruce Springsteen’s concert film on his latest album, directed by the artist himself. Thirteen songs performed in the barn of his house with a very complex accompaniment. Bruce Springsteen’s lovers will love it, for others it is the singer himself who introduces their songs from time to time, with a hint of excessive rhetoric, but with the ability to let everyone enter the world of his songs. The other film of the day is «The best is yet to come», a comedy by the French director duo Delaporte and De La Patellière, who jokes about one of the usually taboo subjects for comedies: illness and death. The story of two friends, played by Fabrice Luchini and Patrick Bruel, who couldn’t be more different, who believe that the other has a deadly disease. The whole film is built on this misunderstanding with the two friends who try to make life better and who would also like to try to get out of this misunderstanding. Joking about death is not very simple but the script is absolutely extraordinary, full of gimmicks and jokes that are never heavy but always funny with the two actors who seem to compete against who is better. There is also a final twist that questions a lot of things and not in the way everyone expects. One of the funniest comedies presented during the Rome Film Fest.
