Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash said that what the current labor-friendly government has done for the workers, no other government could do. Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina believes that the hard working people of this country are the source of all our strength.

He said this while distributing fresh water, watermelon, saline and awareness leaflets among the working people in severe heat at various places on the initiative of Dhaka Metropolitan Jubo League North-South on Wednesday (May 1).

Sheikh Parash said that the current government is doing groundbreaking work for workers’ rights. Everyone will admit that there is scope for doing more. The current government has done groundbreaking work in improving the quality of life of the workers, a sign of which is the various buildings built for sanitation workers. Better working environment for workers is also very necessary.

He said, today I want to thank Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has kept the load shedding at a tolerable level even in this heat. Although the income of workers has reached a record during the tenure of the current government, it is possible for the government to ensure fair wages in proportion to the market price and with due consideration and thereby eliminate the income inequality of the society.

Referring to the birth of Bangladesh Awami League through the struggle for the rights of the working people, the Jubo League Chairman said, Bangladesh Awami League has always struggled and spoken for the rights of the working people of this country. But we have seen that after 1975, during the long military dictatorship of the country’s anti-independence forces, the hardworking common people of this country have been crushed and deprived. The sighs of the poor people oppressed in the independent sovereign people’s republic of Bangladesh during their miserable regime have been shaken in the air.
