What happened in the last session in this hall and is happening in other halls of RA, was no different in content from the bacchanalia taking place in Baku courts against our compatriots and the military-political elite of Artsakh, RPA vice-president Armen Ashotyan announced in the court, joining the petition of his lawyers to challenge the judge.
“Perhaps only the working language was different,” said Ashotyan.
The judge interrupted Ashotyan, urging him to speak in essence. Lawyer Tigran Atanesyan objected to the judge’s action, stating:
“As soon as you hear the word Azeri, you get upset. You are not upset that you are prolonging the detention, you are upset about it,” said Atanesyan.
Ashotyan told Vahe Dolmazyan, the chairperson of the session, that he cannot subject himself to censorship.
“You can decide the course, but you cannot decide the freedom of my thought, conscience and expression. The word “Azerbaijani” is an insult, let’s understand that it is an insult. You are right, Nikol is wrong. The current regime gave the correct wording to the decisions of the Azerbaijani courts, yes, it’s a farce, but take a look at the thorn in your side, the current regime,” said Ashotyan.
