What happens at the moment of death?
An article published in the scientific journal Frontiers reported that in 2022, a group of American scientists placed an array of microsensors on the head of a dying 87-year-old man to monitor brain activity and determine what is the last thing you see before you die.
The sensors allowed the team to record the patient’s brain activity just before death and even for 15 minutes after death, resulting in an increase in gamma oscillations, in other words, the researchers were able to record small “flashes” that had the patient’s brain.
This record could support the theory that indeed a person “sees his life flash before his eyes” before dying, that is, the brain produces a series of memories before disconnecting completely.
In fact, the study mentions that the theory of seeing life flash before your eyes is supported by people who were about to die from illnesses, accidents, etc., who also said they had seen the most beautiful moments of their lives right at the moment in which they were about to die.
And although the result cannot be conclusive, it was the first time that it was possible to monitor the brain activity of a patient in agony.
