A new era of extravagance has dawned in the world of bridal fashion. Israeli designer Galia Lahav has partnered with Leibish diamond house to create a wedding gown boasting a seven-figure price tag, challenging the boundaries of luxury and exclusivity.
The collaboration, revealed ahead of Lahav’s fall bridal presentation on Tuesday at its SoHo flagship boutique, introduces a dress that transcends the customary concept of a “dream dress.” The gown represents a important investment, positioning itself as more than just a garment but as a lasting legacy.
A Million-Dollar Masterpiece
The creation of this extraordinary gown spared no expense. The design features an intricately embroidered bodice layered with hand-dyed antique lace and a flowing taffeta pannier skirt. However, it’s the addition of a breathtaking piece of jewelry that elevates the gown to its million-dollar valuation: a 30-carat baroque-inspired ruby pin encrusted with diamonds, provided by Leibish. Notably, the pin is detachable and can be worn independently as a statement fine jewelry piece.
“This gown is designed for a bride who wants more than fashion, she wants luxury, exclusivity and legacy,” explained Galia Lahav’s head designer, Sharon Sever. “We imagine it resonating with someone who views her wedding dress not just as a statement but as an investment.”
Exclusive Access and Accessible Alternatives
The million-dollar gown will be available by appointment only to a select bride with an unlimited budget – a clientele similar to recent Galia Lahav wearer Lauren sanchez, who chose the brand for her prenuptial party in Paris. However, recognizing that such a price point is beyond the reach of most, Lahav is also offering the gown as a rental option.
A more accessible interpretation of the design, featuring lab-grown gems, will be available for $55,000. This provides a taste of the luxury without the seven-figure commitment.
The “Keepsake” Collection and a Lasting Impression
Sever views the design as the embodiment of Galia Lahav’s “Keepsake” theme for this season.”A wedding gown is always cherished, but imagine one that can literally transform and be passed on to future generations?” she posited. “This dress is the ultimate expression of what we mean by a keepsake: a memory, a love story captured in fabric and stone, preserved forever.”
The gown isn’t simply a purchase; it’s an heirloom, a tangible portrayal of a couple’s enduring love story, designed to be treasured for generations to come.
