Mumbai: Discussions about the 15-member Indian National Cricket Team for the T20 World Cup 2022 are gathering dust. Many stars, including Virat Kohli, who are waiting for a comeback, have been in the hot seat of discussions. Meanwhile, former fielding coach R Sridhar has predicted the names of three pacers who will be in the team for sure in the World Cup.
Sridhar is sure of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as pacers in the team. “We have too many pacers, that’s the problem. I think our top three pacers will be Bumrah, Shami and Bhuvi. With this you will get new ball bowler and death over bowlers. Bhuvi is in great fitness. Shami has the power to rattle the best opening batsmen in the world. Hardik Pandya is now bowling. Ravindra Jadeja is also an all-rounder. A tournament like the World Cup requires great players in the team. R Sridhar told Cricket.com that the Indian bowling line-up will be strong when the top three pacers get the support of the strong Hardik Pandya.
After the last T20 World Cup, when India tested 11 pacers in the format, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the best bowler. Bhuvi has 23 wickets in 18 innings at an average of 6.94. Harshal Patel has taken as many wickets in 16 innings but conceded an average of 9 runs. India have not played Jasprit Bumrah much since the last World Cup. Bumrah’s achievement is three wickets in three matches. Meanwhile, Mohammad Shami has not played a single T20 match for India after November 2021.
The T20 World Cup will be held in Australia in October-November. According to reports, India will field the same team that will play in the Asia Cup in the World Cup. There are indications that India will field the same team for the T20 series against Australia and South Africa before the World Cup.
