The program for the end of school lessons in Gymnasiums and High Schools was issued by the Ministry of Education. In the same decision, the dates for the promotion exams as well as the conditions for the promotion and dismissal of the students are defined. The courses in Gymnasiums will end on May 29, while in General High Schools and EPAL the courses end on May 17.
High school
In the high schools, the end of the courses was set for Friday, May 17, 2024. The program of the promotional and graduation exams is announced to the students at least 5 days before the end of the courses. The promotion and graduation exams of students of the 1st and 2nd grade of Day High Schools will be held from Monday, May 20 to Friday, June 14, 2024. The results will be issued by Friday, June 21 at the latest.
The final exams of the 3rd grade students of Day and Evening General High Schools will take place from Monday, May 20th until Monday, May 27th. The results will be announced by Wednesday, May 29. Those students who are excused from the exams will have a special exam period during the second fortnight of June.
The same will apply to those who do not manage to catch the General Average. The results of the special examination period will be announced by Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Regarding the progress checks of the second quarter, they will be handed over to parents and guardians by Friday, May 17, 2024. A special examination period is planned for the beginning of September for those students who were excused from the special examination June period or they didn’t catch the GMO.
High schools
The end date of courses for High Schools, High Schools E.A.E. and ENEGY-L High Schools is set for Wednesday, May 29, 2024, a date on which no teaching takes place and the Teachers’ Association decides on the characterization of the course. The program of the promotional and graduation exams of the courses is defined by the Teachers’ Association and announced by the Director of the High School to the students, at least three (3) days before the end of the courses. As above, an examination program is also defined for the qualifying examinations of privately taught and conscript students. After the end, the following timetable is proposed for the promotion and graduation exams of the country’s high school students: The promotion exams and graduation exams of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students of the Day and Evening High Schools, High Schools E.A.E. and ENEGY-L High Schools in Group A courses are held from Monday 03 June 2024 to Monday 17 June 2024.
The student is deemed worthy of promotion or dismissal, aa) when he has an annual performance grade of at least ten (10) in each course, or ab) when he has an overall average of at least thirteen (13) annual performance grades. If the above conditions for promotion or dismissal are not met, the student is referred in the first ten days of September, before the start of the next school year’s classes, i.e. in the second examination period, to a re-examination in the courses in which his annual performance grade is lower than ten (10), as long as the number of these courses does not exceed four (4). If the above conditions for promotion or dismissal are not met and the student has an annual performance grade of less than ten (10) in more than four (4) courses, then he is not deemed worthy of promotion or dismissal, he is not referred to a repeat examination and repeats the class.[…] d) Even if, after the repeat exams, a student of the 1st and 2nd grades is not considered worthy of promotion or a student of the 3rd grade is not deemed worthy of dismissal, according to paragraph a of par. 4, he repeats the grade.”
Vocational high schools
The end date of the Day and Evening courses. and Standards EPA.L is set for Friday, May 17, 2024, a date on which no teaching takes place and the Teachers’ Association decides on the characterization of the course. The program of the promotional, graduation and degree exams of the courses is defined by the Teachers’ Association and announced by the Director of the EPA.L. – P.EPAL to the students, at least five (5) days before the end of the classes. After the end, the following schedule is proposed for the promotional and graduation exams of the Day and Evening E students. PA.L and Standard EPA.L. of the country.
First examination period
The promotional exams of the students of the 1st and 2nd grade of the Day and Evening EPA.L. and Standard EPA.L. of the first exam period will begin on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 and must be completed by Tuesday, June 11, 2024, including the exams for students who were excused absent. The results of the promotional exams of the first exam period must have been issued by Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the latest. and Standard EPA.L. of the first examination period will begin on Monday 20 May 2024 and must be completed by Friday 24 May 2024. The results of the baccalaureate and degree examinations of the first examination period must have been issued by Monday 27 May 2024 at the latest.
